Lisa Krch
Lisa joined 29 Eyewitness News in 1997. She brings knowledge of our area and the issues affecting the residents of Kern County to the anchor desk. You can see Lisa on Daybreak from 5 to 7 am, and anchoring the 5 pm Evening News Monday through Friday.
She is committed to our community and enjoys working with many local agencies including the Bakersfield SPCA, Kern Adult Literacy Council, and Community Connection for Child Care. You can see her Smart Woman Reports several times each week, which are dedicated to the physical, mental and spiritual needs of women and families. Lisa has received several honors and awards over the years for her community involvement and has also been recognized for excellence in reporting and anchoring. These include the Kern Press Club Award of Excellence in 2001, 2002 and 2003 for Best Anchor Team, which she proudly shares with co-anchor Rusty Shoop. Lisa was also recognized by the Kern Press Club for Best Serious Feature in the year 2000, and the prestigious C. Everett Koop, M.D., Media Award in 1996. Before moving to Bakersfield, Lisa worked as an anchor, reporter and producer in Chico, California and also in Eureka, California. While going to college in Reno, Nevada, she was an associate producer and studio camera operator at a station there. When Lisa was in high school, she was the weekend DJ at KELY Radio in Ely, Nevada, the small town where she was born and raised. "I love it when people tell me they can see how much I enjoy my job", she said. " I can't imagine doing anything else, and every morning when that alarm goes off, I consider myself lucky to be going to work, doing something I truely enjoy."
