Siemny Chhuon
Siemny Chhuon joined the 29 Eyewitness News team in October of 2005. She's ecstatic to be back in sunny California. She grew up just an hour and a half south of Bakersfield, in the San Fernando Valley. But she was born in Thailand, after her family fled the Khmer Rouge regime.
For college, Siemny moved up north and attended UC Berkeley, where she graduated with a double major in Political Science and Mass Communication. But as a little girl, Siemny always knew she wanted to get into news. She got her start as a production assistant at KABC in Los Angeles, and then got her big break at KIDK-TV in Idaho Falls, Idaho where she worked as a "one-man-band." That's TV talk for a reporter/photographer/writer/editor/producer/slave-who-doesn't-make-enough-to-live-on. But, she wouldn't take her experience back for anything in the world. Part of the reason she loves her job so much is because it's her way of being able to (hopefully) change the world and help others, one interview and one story at a time. In her spare time, Siemny likes to run, eat (that's why she has to run), read, dance, and watch movies. She's also always up for a little adventure! You can watch Siemny every Monday through Friday on Fox 58 at 10 p.m, as well as 29 Eyewitness News at 11 p.m. You can e-mail Siemny at schhuon@eyeoutforyou.com. |
