Jeff Lemucchi
A Taft native, Jeff Lemucchi covers the stories affecting Kern County from a personal knowledge of the people and places that make this area a great place to live and work.
Jeff began his broadcasting career in radio in Fresno, California while attending Fresno State as a Music major. His travels have taken him to different stations in several cities throughout California and Oregon where he has served not only as on-air talent but as program director and operations manager. Before returning to Kern County in 1998, Jeff worked at two different radio stations in beautiful Monterey on California's Central Coast. Why leave Monterey to come to Bakersfield? Because Kern County is home, and Jeff remembers that when he delivers the news to the people of Kern County. Before coming to Channel 29, Jeff served as anchor of Bakersfield’s Morning News with Jeff Lemucchi on Newsradio 970 KGET-AM for three years. Prior to that Jeff was an anchor and News Director at KERN-AM in Bakersfield. In addition to reporting and anchoring television news, Jeff’s TV duties over the years include producing many video presentations for corporate clients in northern and southern California. He has done numerous commercials for both radio and television. In 2002, Jeff was the only Kern County representative to meet personally with Governor Gray Davis and his team to discuss ways to develop the state's newly-implemented Amber Alert System. He is also a recipient of the Best Newswriter Award from the Associated Press. Of all the duties Jeff has performed in the industry, news is his favorite and most rewarding. Many people throughout the area consider Jeff to be one of Kern County's most credible and trustworthy news anchors. Jeff’s wife, Jan, also works in television as a Community Affairs Director. Together, they have four grown children. Jeff enjoys cooking, reading, bicycling, playing trumpet and singing. You can email Jeff at jlemucchi@eyeoutforyou.com |
