John Dabkovich joined the Eyewitness News team in December 2006. He says he loves his job because, "I get to cover stories that affect people's lives."

John grew up in Ventura County, but moving to Bakersfield has actually brought him closer to home. After graduating from Fresno State in 2000, John started his broadcasting career as a sports anchor/reporter at WTAJ-TV in Altoona, PA.

During his time in Altoona, John covered several major stories including Super Bowl XL in Detroit. But after 6 years in sports, he was ready for a new challenge and he says Eyewitness News was a "perfect fit."

In his spare time, John enjoys reading, exercising and playing golf.
