Greg Kerr
Greg Kerr has a passion for sports. "I feel blessed each and every day to have a job I thoroughly enjoy, an extension of my childhood." He was born in Columbus, Ohio. "My father worked for naval intelligence so we moved when I was six months old, a sign of things to come since I went to three high schools. I grew up in the bay area but moved after my freshman year to the Philippines. Two years later, I was a senior back in the states in Virginia." Greg attended college at Virginia Commonwealth University, in Richmond, Virginia. He played baseball for the Rams and left with a degree in mass communications.
His first broadcasting job was in Billings, Montana at KULR-TV. A year later it was onto Greenville, North Carolina to work at WNCT-TV. Greg arrived in Bakersfield in February of 1987. "I love the intimacy of this sports community, and my love for high school sports and the belief that bigger isn't always better in this business has kept me here," "I'd rather spend time with my family than be on a road-trip covering a professional team." Greg and his wife Shauna have two children, a daughter, Sherah and a son Kyle. I'm proud to say Bakersfield is my home. Greg and his family attend First Assembly of God on California Avenue. You can watch Greg on Eyewitness News at 5, 6 and 11PM You can e-mail Greg at gkerr@eyeoutforyou.com |
