For the love of reading, one local teacher is putting her students hard at work.

Cora Garcia of Berkshire Elementary is the latest winner of our One Classroom at a Time grant and she plans to use the $1,000 dollars to open a student run bookstore.

Students will have to apply for various positions such as a cashier or security guard and undergo training to work in the store.

One of the students is happy to be a part of Misses Garcia's vision in funding a love for reading.

The store will provide cheap affordable books to students in hopes to light a spark of interest in books.

The store will likely be up and running by January and available to all one thousand Berkshire Elementary students.
