People say they're forced to make expensive home improvements or face eviction

For nearly 30 years, Willie Wines has lived at the Pioneer Pines trailer park in east Bakersfield. But last month, she got a letter from the park's management telling her to make expensive home improvements or she could face eviction.

"They're going to come in and do another inspection. And by the 14th (of April), if I don't have it all done, they're going to give me a 7 day notice," Wines said.

Wines has to replace the skirting around her trailer, landscape the yard and replace her front porch which management says has rotting wood. The repairs aren't cheap either. Wines was quoted $2,000 for the skirting alone.

"And I don't have it. And I got scared. And I'm almost trying to give my house away because I know I can't do it. I can't do it by the 14th and I know I can't do it and so what else can I do?" Wines said.

We found she's not the only one who feels squeezed.

Marsha Anderson says she was told her dog, Jordan, violates the park's pet policy.
She's had him for 13 years he's her only companion since her husband died 8 years ago. And only now, since new management took over, has Jordan become an issue.

The park manager refused to comment on the issue. Pioneer Pines is owned by Modesto-based RT Enterprises. A woman at the company's corporate offices told Eyewitness News she'd have a manager call back. As of 7pm Wednesday, Eyewitness News had not received any calls.
